Cavrnus-CVT: Logging In From An Application

collabviewer-Login.png

There are several options to connect your users to the Cavrnus platform from inside an application, including automatic login, and guest features. However, for applications intended for widespread distribution, developers often opt to create a custom user interface to facilitate seamless login experiences, ensuring ease of access for users to enter their login credentials securely.

Just as a user might login to the web portal, login credentials are required in order to connect a specific user identity in a Cavrnus Space. Below is an example of such a user interface.

Note the key information required to connect to a Cavrnus Space.

  • URL: The separate fields for the DOMAIN and the SERVER allow for flexibility and simplicity. The same application can be used to login to different domains, and users only have to enter the domain name.

  • Email: This is essentially the login ID for the user.

  • Password: With every great login is a strong password.

  • Options: Optional settings provide an enhanced user experience, but are not required by the Cavrnus platform.

    • Guest Login tab: A separate set of fields for entering a Guest Login Code.

    • “Keep me logged in”: A checkbox that allows a user to skip the login process the next time they run the application from that device.

    • “Forgot Password” hyperlink: Because everyone does. This hyperlink would spawn a web page to your own user management site.

    • “Signup” hyperlink: Valuable if you plan to distribute this is an application outside your previously defined organization.
