Navigating Spaces (Unity)

In Cavrnus, a "Space" refers to a unique configuration of a virtual 3D environment where users can convene to collaborate and review designs. Here's how the concept of a Space works within Cavrnus:

  1. Unique Configurations: Each Space in Cavrnus represents a distinct setup of a virtual 3D environment. Users can create multiple Spaces to accommodate different projects, teams, or purposes, each with its own layout, design elements, and interactive features.

  2. Journal: Within each Space, Cavrnus maintains a Journal that records the complete history of transactions and interactions. This includes conversations, property updates, additions, and changes made to the scene. The Journal serves as a chronological log, tracing all activities back to the creation of the Space.

  3. Multiple Spaces for the Same Design: The same design or project can be presented in multiple Spaces within Cavrnus. Each Space provides a separate environment for users to explore and interact with the design, with its own unique Journal to track activities and changes specific to that Space.

  4. Unlimited Spaces: Cavrnus accounts can have an unlimited number of Spaces associated with a particular domain. This allows users to create and manage multiple Spaces to accommodate various projects, teams, or collaborations within their organization.

  5. Space Management: The management of Spaces within Cavrnus can be handled by users with appropriate access permissions and roles. Users can be assigned different roles, such as administrators or moderators, to manage Spaces, invite participants, configure settings, and oversee activities within each Space.

Overall, the concept of a Space in Cavrnus provides users with a flexible and customizable environment for collaboration and design review. With the ability to create multiple Spaces, each with its own Journal and configuration, users can effectively manage projects, track progress, and collaborate with stakeholders in a structured and organized manner.

Adding/Removing Spaces

  • From the CSC interface

    • Cavrnus allows an unlimited number of Spaces for each domain.

    • A new Space can be created from the Lobby by clicking the “New Space” function to create a new space. Give the Space a unique name. Initially, the Space Owner is the only member who can view the Space.

    • Spaces can be removed from the Lobby by clicking the “Archive” button on the Space thumbnail. This does not delete the Space, but rather moves it to a separate view which can be accessed by checking the “View Archived” checkbox.

  • From the Web Portal

    • At this time, Spaces cannot be added or deleted from the web portal.

User Management from the Lobby

  • The original Space creator is automatically assigned the role of “Owner”.

  • From the CSC interface.

    • Once a Space is created, add new users to the access list by clicking the “Manage Members” button on the Space thumbnail.

    • Click the “+Add Member” button to assign access of the Space to members of the domain.

    • Assign roles for each member to define access privileges.

  • From the Web Portal

    • Select the Space from the Spaces section of the Web Portal.

    • Click the “Members” tab in the Space dialog box.

    • Click the “+Add Member” button to assign access of the Space to members of the domain. (Note: You must have the appropriate role assigned to you for that Space in order to add members.)

Inviting Guests

  • Guests can be invited to a Space by generating a temporary URL link that can be copied and pasted from the CSC interface.

  • Guests in the Space will have limited access to navigate and make changes to the Space, depending on the Roles and Policies of the domain.
